Aitiologic raises €6.4m seed to validate blood test for preeclampsia risk
The seed financing advances a liquid-biopsy platform and large-scale validation of a first-trimester risk test that uses a routine prenatal blood sample.
Reading tissue signals from blood
Aitiologic’s Aitios platform combines genomic, epigenomic and fragmentomic signals from cell-free DNA with computational interpretation to infer tissue-specific information from a blood draw. Its lead programme is testing whether those signals can stratify preeclampsia risk in the first trimester using the same sample collected for prenatal testing.
The test and platform remain in development. The next step is large-scale validation after early feasibility work, so this round funds evidence generation and regulated product development rather than an already approved diagnostic.
A focused clinical validation programme
The €6.4 million seed round was described as oversubscribed and includes Ananda Impact Ventures, Heal Capital, PUSH VC, LANA Ventures and Dr. Gordon Sanghera. The company will advance the Aitios platform and its preeclampsia lead programme.
