Soundtrap is a cloud-based digital audio workstation for creating music and podcasts in a browser. Creators record, arrange and edit audio in shared projects, invite collaborators to work in real time and draw on built-in loops and sounds; the same platform also supports classroom music and podcast projects for educators and students.
Users create an audio project in a web browser, record or import audio, arrange tracks and edit the result in the online studio. Project owners can invite collaborators directly into a session and work together in real time from different locations. The platform supplies a growing library of loops and sounds and supports workflows for both music makers and podcasters.
Soundtrap also offers an education version for teachers and students to create music and podcasts in classroom settings. Its cloud delivery makes projects accessible across locations and devices, while shared sessions support co-creation rather than a file handoff at each editing step.
The company serves independent music creators, podcasters, schools and educators. Soundtrap launched its browser-based collaborative recording studio in 2013 and is an established operating product. In September 2026 it received SEK 40 million in new investment from Industrifonden as it pursued profitability under renewed founder ownership.
