Rune
Modular GPU computing systems deployed at solar plants, using direct-current electricity that would otherwise be curtailed or clipped to supply AI workloads.
Product
Turning unused solar electricity into computing capacity
Rune builds RELIC, a modular computing system placed at operating solar farms. Its power electronics connect GPUs directly to the plant’s direct-current output, capturing electricity that would otherwise be curtailed or clipped rather than routed through a new grid connection. Solar operators provide the deployment sites and power; AI customers reserve compute capacity for workloads such as inference.
RELIC is already operating at initial energy partner sites. Rune’s launch announcement identifies a live installation at a 200 MW solar facility in Texas, while its website offers bare-metal GPU clusters sized to a customer’s workload. The company is expanding its power partnerships and compute customer deployments. The solar facility’s 200 MW rating describes the generation site, while the computing service is sold as GPU capacity.
