Rivercell develops a platform for studying how living cells respond to drugs and genetic changes. The Paris company combines biological experiments with an AI Virtual Cell program intended to predict those responses.
Its in-house data platform links live-cell imaging and gene-expression measurements, tracks changes over time and tests interventions across different cellular contexts. The resulting data is designed to support models that can guide further experiments.
Rivercell was started by Yann Fleureau in 2025, with Eric Durand joining as co-founder and chief scientific officer in 2026. It is building its laboratory and engineering team in Paris.
