PetPact helps pet owners choose a future carer and record practical care instructions for illness, incapacity, death or separation.
A plan shared with the future carer
Owners enter details about their animals and everyday care needs, then nominate a guardian and an optional backup. Couples can also record who would look after an animal following a separation.
The service sends the resulting document for electronic signature by both the owner and the chosen guardian. The signed plan can then be kept and shared with the people responsible for the animal.
Built around practical care
PetPact covers up to three animals in one plan and can be used alongside a will. Its focus is the information a future carer needs: who has agreed to take responsibility and how the animal should be looked after.
Created by solicitor Rachel Roche within Roche Legal, the service now operates through PetPact Limited. Its online workflow serves individual and joint pet owners.
