How homes and energy suppliers use NOX

NOX connects household heat pumps and solar equipment through their existing cloud interfaces. It shifts heating toward cheaper electricity or solar generation, using the building as a thermal store while respecting temperature limits chosen by the resident. It can also briefly adjust heating or solar output in response to grid demand. Aggregating these adjustments gives energy suppliers a flexible resource to trade or use to reduce imbalances, with household rewards delivered through electricity bills.

Utilities and equipment manufacturers can embed the service in their own apps using branded components or APIs, preserving their customer relationship. The product is already in use: NOX describes live Smart Heating with Frank Energie in Belgium and an Eneco pilot, and offers household device connections on its site. It currently reports more than 10,000 connected assets. Further expansion centres on additional supplier integrations and markets.
