Mironid
United Kingdom · Biotech
Mironid develops small-molecule medicines for inherited kidney disease, with a lead programme targeting autosomal dominant polycystic kidney disease.
Targeting the signals behind cyst growth
Autosomal dominant polycystic kidney disease, or ADPKD, involves the growth of fluid-filled kidney cysts. Mironid’s LoAc drug candidates target abnormally high levels of cyclic AMP, a signalling molecule involved in cell proliferation and fluid secretion.
The company’s research aims to limit the formation and growth of cysts through small-molecule treatment. Its preclinical findings provide the basis for clinical development.
Early clinical development
In October 2026, Mironid reported dosing the first cohorts in a Phase 1 study of its lead LoAc molecule. The study evaluates safety, tolerability and how the drug behaves in healthy volunteers.
The initial single-ascending-dose portion is designed for up to 48 participants across six cohorts. Mironid is a clinical-stage developer based in Scotland.
