Kalz develops a process that binds CO2 into industrial residues to produce materials for cement and concrete.
Product
CO2-rich exhaust gas reacts with slag or incineration ash, forming stable carbonates. The process combines carbon storage with upgrading residues into substitutes for emissions-intensive construction ingredients.
The Berlin company grew out of the Seq-Kalz research project at TU Berlin. Its product portfolio includes supplementary cementitious materials, aggregates and fillers for construction applications.
