A carbon-capture technology developer using amine-containing gels and membranes to separate carbon dioxide from industrial gases.
JCCL's solid-absorbent process captures carbon dioxide in an amine-containing gel, then releases it using reduced pressure and steam at around 40–60°C. The process can use industrial waste heat and avoids separate drying steps for the exhaust and absorbent.
The Fukuoka company, a Kyushu University spinout, combines materials development with equipment and process design. Industrial partnerships cover larger capture units, absorbent manufacturing and membrane separation for combustion exhaust. Its commercial activities include equipment sales, technology licensing and commissioned testing.
