Grubel is an AI research lab developing matter-specific AI for law firms and legal teams. For each case, its system curates task-relevant data, adapts models and agents to that matter at inference time, and evaluates their work against legal-task requirements, aiming to handle complex legal work with stronger case context and confidentiality than a general-purpose assistant.
For a given case or client matter, Grubel’s system discovers and curates task-relevant data and feedback, then adapts the model, agent and supporting workflow to that matter at test time. It continually evaluates performance on legal tasks so the specialized system can be improved for the work at hand. The company says deployments can run locally on a customer’s infrastructure and within its jurisdiction, keeping files and matter-specific learning in the client’s custody.
The approach is intended for complex, high-stakes legal workflows where facts, parties and jurisdiction vary from case to case. Grubel expects to distribute the technology through legal-AI partners as well as directly to law firms and in-house legal teams.
The intended users are law firms and legal departments seeking to automate research and other complex legal work while preserving matter confidentiality. Grubel was founded as a research lab and raised a €3 million pre-seed round in September 2026; its site invites firms and AI product teams to request early access as the company builds its product and research team.
