FarmInsect developed modular insect-farming systems for producing animal feed on farms.
Product
FarmInsect developed a decentralised system for producing insect-based animal feed. Farmers installed modular rearing equipment, received young black soldier fly larvae and fed them locally available agricultural residues. A software platform guided production and monitored each stage of the process.
The model brought protein production onto individual farms and also produced compost for fertiliser or biogas. Following insolvency proceedings, FarmInsect ceased operations in 2026 after failing to secure a buyer.
