Embedded cybersecurity software for device manufacturers that protects connected products from firmware vulnerabilities and malicious activity at runtime.
Exein Runtime is designed for device makers securing Linux and RTOS products in the field. Its agent works at the operating-system layer, monitoring device activity and applying kernel-level controls to detect, trace and block malicious behavior while devices run. Fleet monitoring and incident evidence give security teams a way to review activity across deployed products, including resource-constrained edge devices.
Exein Analyzer examines firmware binaries and software bills of materials inside a manufacturer’s build environment. It uses reachability scoring to prioritize vulnerabilities that are exposed in a particular device, then maps findings to compliance requirements such as the EU Cyber Resilience Act. The two products cover different points in the device lifecycle: Analyzer before deployment and Runtime after a product is operating.
Photon is Exein’s launched kernel-level runtime security architecture, built to stop malicious execution as it occurs. The company’s September 2026 financing announcement described a proprietary foundation model for Physical AI security as still in development, with an expected Q1 2027 introduction; that model is a future development, separate from Photon.
