Daedal Systems
Standardized plasma diagnostic instruments being developed for fusion reactor teams, delivered through service contracts to measure reactor performance and validate technical milestones.

Measurements that guide reactor development
Daedal Systems develops plasma diagnostic equipment for fusion companies that otherwise build similar instruments in-house. Its first suite combines Thomson scattering to measure electron temperature and density, X-ray spectroscopy to measure temperatures and flow, and visible/ultraviolet spectroscopy to characterize plasma emissions. Offered through full-service contracts adapted to each machine, the instruments are intended to give reactor teams reliable operating data and provide independent measurements that investors and partners can use to assess technical milestones.
The company is preparing its first customer deployments. Its September announcement says it will build three diagnostic systems and deploy prototypes with pilot clients; it also identifies a research partnership with the University of Wisconsin-Madison. Fusion developers can discuss their machine and measurement requirements with Daedal to scope a contracted diagnostic suite. Additional instruments, including neutron and magnetic diagnostics, remain on the roadmap. The immediate product is measurement infrastructure for reactor development, with broader commercial-power instrumentation a longer-term ambition.
