CloudNC builds AI software for precision machining, helping machine shops develop CNC programs and quotes faster while keeping machinists in control of final decisions.
CAM Assist plugs into a machine shop’s existing CAM software and analyzes a part model to suggest machining strategies, operations and toolpaths. Programmers can configure the AI around their machines, materials, tools and fixtures, then inspect and edit its recommendations before sending the approved work back to their CAM system for code generation. The aim is to reduce repetitive programming and estimating work while preserving the machinist’s review and control.
CloudNC develops and tests its AI in its own precision-machining factory, where CAM Assist is used to produce parts for sectors including aerospace, energy, automotive and defense. Its product portfolio also includes tools such as Soft Jaw Designer and a newer Quote Agent for estimating machining jobs. The company reports CAM Assist use by more than 1,000 machine shops worldwide. September’s $20 million investment supports broader adoption, market expansion and new product development.
