The company grew out of research at Caltech and manufactures its systems in Pasadena, California. Its Direct Ocean Capture process removes carbon dioxide from seawater, allowing the ocean to absorb more from the atmosphere. The same electrochemical platform is also being commercialized for applications such as lithium extraction.
