Boomerang connects an employer's HR information system and applicant-tracking system to keep a current record of former employees, their skills, departure context and rehire eligibility. When a role opens, it matches alumni against the requirements and surfaces qualified people in the recruiter’s existing hiring workflow.

The platform also supports alumni engagement, referral discovery and reporting on workforce outcomes. Its alumni-management product is available, while its AI-guided offboarding conversations are in limited beta; the Seed-funded company reports use by hundreds of employers.
