Aventix builds sensor-based analytical instruments for laboratories. Its first product, Scarlett 01, measures liquid volumes across microplate wells without touching the sample, helping R&D teams check dispensing quality and catch volume variation before it affects assay results.
Aventix’s first product, Scarlett 01, is a benchtop system that measures the liquid in each well of a microplate without contacting the sample. Its optical sensor uses chromatic aberration as a calibrated distance scale: the reflected wavelength indicates the liquid surface height, and the system converts that surface geometry into a volume while accounting for the meniscus and plate geometry.
The measurement is designed to help research teams verify pipetting and liquid-handler performance in the plate used for an experiment. Aventix says a 96-well plate can be scanned in as little as 30 seconds; the system also supports 384-well plates. Its SensVue software presents measurements, flags anomalies and exports reports.
Aventix targets R&D laboratories working in pharmaceutical, chemical, agricultural and cosmetics research, where small dispensing errors can change concentrations and undermine repeatability. The product’s role is to make those errors visible during experiment preparation or troubleshooting, before a result is interpreted.
Scarlett 01 is currently offered through a limited Early Access Program. Aventix reports independent testing of 10 µL DMSO volumes in a 384-well plate with VTT MIKES; its validation summary describes comparison against a gravimetrically calibrated reference. This supports a specific evaluated use case, while broader platform capabilities remain in development.
