Eureka! Fund II connects Lazio research with industrial capital

The new fund combines a €16m public anchor with private commitments to help proprietary technologies reach industrial customers.

Eureka! Fund II – Deep Tech Lazio is aimed at the difficult step between a proprietary technology and an industrial business. Its approximately €20m first close brings public and private investors into a vehicle focused on validation, industrialisation and growth.

Capital for the move out of the laboratory

Managed by Eureka! Venture, the fund succeeds its 2020 technology-transfer vehicle. It targets spin-offs, startups and innovative SMEs whose hardware or software depends on intellectual property and scientific know-how. Advanced manufacturing, robotics, physical AI, quantum technologies and materials science are among its priorities.

A regional anchor with national scouting

Lazio Innova committed €16m through Lazio Venture 2, within the first-close total. The fund can scout across Italy, but its investments focus on businesses that have or develop an active presence in Lazio. A research team’s route to customers and industrial production therefore matters alongside its technical work.

Using public capital to attract private investors

The structure allocates profits and losses asymmetrically in favour of private investors. Eureka! describes that mechanism as a way to improve their risk-return profile and attract capital to early deep tech. For founders, the practical fit is a defensible technology, an industrialisation plan and a concrete connection to the regional ecosystem.
