XDOF unveils $70m in financing for robot-learning infrastructure
The robotics startup emerged from stealth with backing from Thrive Capital, Spark Capital, a16z, Lux Capital and WndrCo.
Co-founder Philipp Wu announced the financing on June 17, 2026, as XDOF emerged from stealth. Wu, Yide Shentu and Nemo Jin are building infrastructure that helps robotics developers turn physical demonstrations into training data for general-purpose machines.
The work spans hardware, collection operations and policy training. XDOF partners with robotics labs and companies that need production-scale datasets and tools for developing physical AI. Its founding team’s experience includes the GELLO teleoperation system, which lets a person guide a robot to generate demonstrations.
Alongside its launch, XDOF released ABC-130K with academic and industry collaborators. The open dataset gives researchers access to manipulation demonstrations and accompanies the company’s commercial data and evaluation work.
