X-energy closes upsized $700m Series C-1
The February 2025 final close expands the Amazon-anchored financing to support reactor licensing and nuclear fuel production.
X-energy closed its Series C-1 at $700 million on February 6, 2025. The final total includes the approximately $500 million announced in October 2024, with Amazon’s Climate Pledge Fund anchoring the financing.
Additional investors included Segra Capital Management, Jane Street and Emerson Collective. NGP and the University of Michigan also participated, alongside Ares-managed funds and affiliates, and an affiliate of Ken Griffin.
The proceeds support reactor design and licensing, the first phase of the TRISO-X fuel facility in Tennessee and future Xe-100 projects. The financing brings reactor development and fuel production forward together, both necessary steps toward commercial deployment.
