Warp Sciences raises $215 million Series A to build automated chemistry labs
Lightspeed leads financing for the U.S. chemistry company founded by Kevin Weil, Sol Reisberg, DJ Patil and Manohar Paluri.
A Series A for laboratory infrastructure
Warp Sciences has announced a $215 million Series A led by Lightspeed. Its institutional backers include IVP, Premji Invest, Mayfield, Lux Capital and Menlo Ventures.
The company is building U.S. laboratories where chemists, AI and robotics work together to make molecules for drug discovery teams. The financing supports scientific capacity in the United States and infrastructure for faster experimentation.
Serving biotech and pharmaceutical research
Warp operates as a chemistry contract research organisation. Research teams bring molecular ideas that need to be synthesised and tested; Warp combines expert laboratory work with increasing automation to help them run more experiments.
Kevin Weil, Sol Reisberg, DJ Patil and Manohar Paluri founded the company. Its initial work is with a small group of design partners while it expands laboratory capacity.
Use of funds
Build automated U.S. chemistry laboratories and expand drug discovery services.
