WAKAZE raises ¥150 million to build a Paris brewery
The sake producer will invest in French production, local marketing and its Japanese subscription business.
WAKAZE announced ¥150 million in equity financing on June 17, 2019. Investors included Spiral Ventures Japan Fund 1, Nissay Capital Fund 9, Nakashimato and four individual investors.
The sake producer planned to establish a brewery in Paris and invest in local marketing, while strengthening subscriptions and recruitment in Japan. Local production was intended to support products suited to French customers.
