Wahed receives QDB backing through Startup Qatar

The wealth management platform joined Startup Qatar’s inaugural cohort; QDB later reported an investment of about QAR11 million.

Wahed was selected for the first Startup Qatar Investment Program cohort announced on November 12, 2024. Qatar Development Bank’s subsequent 2024 venture investment report recorded a November investment in the company of approximately QAR11 million.

Wahed provides digital investment services built around Shariah-compliant portfolios. QDB’s backing supports the company’s expansion into Qatar and the establishment of a regional office.

The Startup Qatar programme combines financing with practical support for companies entering the market, including office space, accommodation and visa assistance. Wahed was one of eleven companies named in the inaugural cohort.
