Wabi raises $20m pre-seed for a platform to create personal apps
a16z led the November 2025 financing for Eugenia Kuyda’s platform, joined by individual investors from across the startup industry.
Wabi announced a $20 million pre-seed financing on November 5, 2025, led by Andreessen Horowitz. Participating angels included Naval Ravikant, Garry Tan, Justin Kan, Amjad Masad, Akshay Kothari, DJ Seo, Shruti Gandhi and Sarah Guo.
The company’s initial platform allowed people to generate personal apps from prompts, change them through an interface and share or remix apps created by others. It brought creation, hosting and discovery into the same service, reducing the setup required to turn an idea into usable software.
Founder Eugenia Kuyda previously built Replika. With Wabi, she was pursuing a different consumer use for AI: giving people without coding experience a way to create small tools for their own routines and communities.
