Vrtx raises $3.6m pre-seed for embedded finance in Saudi Arabia

Seven investors back the Riyadh company’s financial-services infrastructure.

Vrtx has closed a $3.6 million pre-seed round, reported on 18 October 2026. Investors include SC Ventures by Standard Chartered, Sadu Capital, BYLD, Suhail Ventures, F6 Ventures, TAZ Investment and Palm Ventures.

Founded by Mishal Bin Slimah and Omar Shaaban, the company is developing infrastructure that lets businesses integrate wallets, payouts, card issuance and transaction processing into their own products. It brings the technology and operational capabilities together so customers can build on a shared financial-services platform.

Vrtx has received in-principle approval from the Saudi Central Bank for an electronic money institution licence. This is a step towards operating its services under the kingdom’s regulatory framework.
