VoltR secures €22m for second-life battery manufacturing
The package combines €16m in equity from SPI 2 and Decathlon PULSE with €6m in grants.
VoltR has secured €22 million to industrialise lithium battery remanufacturing. The package includes €16 million in equity from the SPI 2 Fund and Decathlon PULSE, plus €6 million in grants through France’s Première Usine program.
The French company plans to double the size of its Verrières-en-Anjou factory and increase production capacity sixfold over two years. The investment will also support production automation, cell diagnostics and a certified storage facility.
VoltR collects used batteries, assesses their cells and turns suitable cells into new batteries. The expansion is intended to take that process from an initial manufacturing base to greater industrial scale in Europe.
SPI 2 is managed by Bpifrance on behalf of the French government under France 2030. Decathlon PULSE is the sports retailer’s investment and innovation entity.
