ugo raises ¥1 billion in debt to scale physical AI and robot production
Mizuho Bank, Bank of Yokohama and Japan Finance Corporation provided the financing.
Japanese robotics company ugo announced ¥1 billion in debt financing on October 21, bringing its cumulative funding to approximately ¥5 billion. The proceeds will support AI models for autonomous work, production of the ugo Nova semi-humanoid and physical AI services.
The company is building on robots already deployed for security and equipment inspections. It plans to feed operational data back into hardware and AI development, then return the resulting capabilities to customer sites. The financing will help establish the production capacity needed to expand beyond those initial tasks.
