Tesla signs $30bn in credit facilities, with no 2026 draw planned
A delayed-draw term loan and two revolving facilities replace an unused $5bn credit line, expanding Tesla’s borrowing capacity.
Tesla signed three unsecured credit agreements on September 29: a $20bn delayed-draw term loan, an $8bn five-year revolver and a $2bn 364-day revolver. No loans were outstanding at signing, and Tesla said it did not plan to draw on the facilities in 2026.
The agreements replace an unused $5bn revolving line, increasing committed capacity by $25bn. Citi is administrative agent for the term facility; Wells Fargo holds that role for both revolvers.
Borrowings may support general corporate purposes. The term facility’s undrawn commitments step down after 12 and 15 months and expire after 18 months. Drawn term loans mature in September 2029; the revolvers mature in September 2031 and September 2027. An optional increase of up to $4bn would require additional conditions to be met.
