EIB offers Tensive up to €20m in venture debt for breast-reconstruction implants
The Italian medtech will use the financing for research, clinical and regulatory work, and industrialisation of its bioresorbable implant.
Supporting tissue regeneration after lumpectomy
Tensive is developing a bioresorbable implant that fills the space left after a tumour is removed during lumpectomy. The scaffold is designed to support natural tissue regrowth and mark the tumour bed for follow-up, then gradually be absorbed by the body.
The European Investment Bank is providing up to €20 million in convertible venture debt for research and development, clinical trials, regulatory work and industrialisation. Tensive is at the clinical stage and reports pivotal-trial results; the EIB says European regulatory approval is anticipated in early 2027.
