Tempo Therapeutics raises $14.5m for regenerative medicine platform
The San Diego company is advancing synthetic biomaterials designed to support tissue repair in damaged or irregular spaces.
A flowable scaffold for tissue repair
Tempo’s microporous annealed particle, or MAP, technology forms a synthetic, bioresorbable scaffold that can conform to irregular tissue spaces. The material is designed to let cells infiltrate and support vascularization and tissue regrowth while avoiding the response associated with a foreign material.
The platform is being developed for regenerative medicine and biosurgery. Tempo’s lead candidate, TT101, is a cell-free material; the company also describes combining MAP scaffolds with controlled-release approaches.
