Scaling Postgres workloads

Alongside the financing, Supabase released the first alpha of Multigres, an open-source system for operating Postgres at scale. It was available for experimentation, with production readiness and platform integration planned for later releases.

Growth changes the infrastructure problem

More than 60% of new databases were being launched by AI tools. The company is investing in database management, performance and reliability, rather than only adding application features.

Where the funding goes

  • Develop open-source Postgres tooling.
  • Improve infrastructure performance, reliability and customer support.
  • Provide employee liquidity.
