SumUp Brasil secures R$850m to finance faster merchant payouts

Two receivables-backed funds provide capital for earlier settlement of card sales.

Two funds supporting one financing package

SumUp announced R$850m of receivables-backed financing in Brazil in November 2025. The package comprised R$450m through FIDC SumUp Smart I and R$400m through FIDC SumUp Smart II, with the funds backed by credit-card receivables.

Bridging the wait for card settlement

The proceeds support earlier payouts to micro and small merchants. SumUp advances money from card sales before the underlying instalments finish settling, helping business owners pay suppliers and keep operating.

The two funds accommodate different investor risk preferences, according to SumUp’s treasury director Lilian Parola. The structure broadens the company’s sources of funding for those merchant payments.

Bradesco BBI and Itaú BBA coordinated the transaction, with Bem administering the funds and Bradesco Asset managing them.

Use of funds

Finance earlier settlement of Brazilian merchants’ card receivables.
