Extending microbial testing into public-health research

Spore.Bio combines biophotonics and machine learning to analyze microorganisms. Its new Spore.Labs division will apply that technology to antimicrobial resistance, including an open-source programme for faster detection and identification of resistance mechanisms.

Open research backed by Google.org

The award supports datasets, published research and collaboration with academic and clinical partners. Google.org subsequently confirmed Spore.Bio among the twelve recipients of its AI for Science fund. The individual grant amount is not disclosed; the fund’s $20 million budget covers all recipients.
