Sling Therapeutics raises $123m Series C for thyroid eye disease drug
Forbion led the financing for clinical development of linsitinib, an oral candidate being studied for thyroid eye disease.
An oral candidate enters Phase 3
Sling is advancing linsitinib, an oral inhibitor of the IGF-1 receptor, as a potential treatment for thyroid eye disease. The drug is being evaluated in the global Phase 3 ORBIT trial, where the first patients were dosed in September.
Linsitinib is designed as an oral option for a condition whose treatment can impose a burden on patients and clinicians. The candidate remains investigational; Sling says it has received FDA Fast Track designation and has an established safety record from studies involving more than 900 patients across multiple diseases.
