Norwegian carbon-removal project enters grant preparation
Sirona Technologies announced on October 19, 2026 that Project Furu had been selected for up to €9.1 million from the EU Innovation Fund. The Norwegian coordinator is Sirona Technologies Norway AS. Selection enters grant-agreement preparation; it does not establish payment of the grant.
The project will deploy modular direct-air-capture machines at CCB Energy’s Energy Park in Øygarden, with permanent underground storage planned for the captured carbon dioxide. Initial capture is planned for 2027.
