SHINE operates neutron testing services for defense and aerospace components and produces radioisotopes for diagnostic imaging and cancer therapy. Its Ilumira facility produces lutetium-177, used to deliver targeted radiation in cancer treatment.

Capital and isotope supply partnership

NantWorks led the $240 million equity financing. Its founder Patrick Soon-Shiong invested $150 million and joined SHINE’s board. The companies also agreed priority access to SHINE’s Lu-177 supply. The financing advances existing products and the development of used nuclear fuel recycling and commercial fusion energy.
