Scopia Surgical raises C$2.65m for surgical navigation software
Linearis Ventures and Anges Québec co-led the pre-seed round as the Montreal company prepares its first clinical validation.
Bringing the preoperative scan into the operating room
Scopia turns CT or MRI scans into a patient-specific three-dimensional model, then aligns that model with the live surgical camera view. The intended use is to help surgeons relate what they see during a minimally invasive or robotic procedure to anatomy captured before the operation.
The approach uses computer vision and existing operating-room equipment. It is being developed as a software-based navigation system, with clinical validation still ahead at the time of the financing announcement.
