Science4Beauty raises PLN7m Series A for recombinant-protein skincare
The Polish biotech will advance its recombinant-protein technology and develop skincare formulations as it builds on an existing commercial product range.
Biotechnology for topical skincare
Science4Beauty uses recombinant proteins to develop skincare formulations. Its Miorelaxant Magic range includes topical creams built around a conotoxin peptide produced in E. coli, rather than harvested from animals; the cosmetic formula is designed to soften the appearance of expression lines without being an injectable treatment.
The PLN7 million Series A will advance the company’s recombinant-protein technology and support new formulations. Science4Beauty already sells its products online and through aesthetic-medicine clinics, and says its lead cream has also been evaluated in a randomized, double-blind study involving 60 volunteers.
