RunPilot secures £140,000 for net-zero infrastructure planning software
The University of Sheffield spinout models route options before costly projects are committed.
Comparing infrastructure routes earlier
The AI-powered platform models and optimizes routes for clean-energy and other infrastructure networks, bringing technical, environmental and societal considerations—including consent risks—into planning. This gives teams a way to test options before a project locks into a route or design.
RunPilot was developed by University of Sheffield researchers Joseph Hammond and Thomas Cowley. BusinessCloud reports that the company expects planning teams to use the software to reduce delivery delays and avoid redesigns caused by fragmented early-stage work.
