Prevision Medicine raises $5.4m seed for testing treatments on patients’ cancer cells
ACE Ventures led the financing for a laboratory platform that measures drug responses to support oncologists’ decisions.
PrevisionOne starts with a fresh patient sample. The laboratory exposes living cancer and non-cancer cells to drugs and combinations, then uses automated microscopy and AI analysis to measure their responses. The resulting report gives the treating oncologist patient-specific experimental data when considering treatment options.
The company’s website includes an account from Professor Thomas Pabst of Inselspital Bern describing use in clinical workflows for patients who have exhausted standard options. Prevision also reports collaborations with more than 20 European hospitals and testing of 2,000 patient samples. These clinical and research relationships form the base for its next commercial phase.
What the funding supports
- Commercialize functional tests for blood cancers and solid tumors
- Obtain regulatory clearances and reimbursement coverage
- Expand European operations
