Positron AI raises $875m for memory-first inference systems
The financing includes a $375 million Series C tranche and a Series C-1 tranche of up to $500 million at a $5 billion post-money valuation.
Inference hardware designed around memory
Positron builds inference systems designed to increase memory capacity and bandwidth while managing power use for large language models. Its Atlas systems use commodity LPDDR5X memory and are deployed in air- and liquid-cooled data centers; the portfolio also includes Asimov custom silicon and Titan, a multi-terabyte-memory system for long-context workloads.
The company says Atlas is deployed at Oracle Cloud Infrastructure, with Parasail, Jump Trading and i3d.net among its customers. The financing will support Asimov’s next-generation silicon, a large engineering and emulation facility, and Titan’s production ramp.
Use of funds
Asimov next-generation silicon tapeout
Bring-up of a 2 MW+ engineering data center and emulation platform
Titan production ramp, LPDDR5X supply commitments, production capacity, system integration and go-to-market expansion
