PLD Space signs €30 million EIB venture debt loan for MIURA 5
The European Investment Bank financing supports final rocket development and expansion of PLD Space’s industrial and launch capabilities.
PLD Space has signed a €30 million venture debt loan with the European Investment Bank to finance the final development of its MIURA 5 small-satellite launcher. The financing also supports expansion of the Spanish company’s industrial facilities and launch capabilities as it prepares for commercial operations.
Backed by the InvestEU programme, the agreement marks the EIB’s first direct investment in small satellite launchers. MIURA 5 is a two-stage rocket intended to give satellite operators more flexible access to orbit, including launches from the Guiana Space Centre.
The loan follows PLD Space’s €180 million Series C in March, bringing financing secured during 2026 to €210 million at the time of the announcement. The April facility is debt financing, separate from the earlier equity round.
