Visa reported to invest $4 million in Phi Commerce
The card network takes a reported 2.5% stake in the Indian payment technology company.
Visa invested $4 million in Phi Commerce for a 2.5% stake, The Head and Tale reported on August 12, 2026, citing two people familiar with the deal. Visa and Phi Commerce did not respond to the publication’s requests for comment.
The report linked the investment to Visa’s interest in supplying issuing and acquiring technology to banks, initially in Asia-Pacific. For Phi Commerce, partnerships with established local institutions could provide a route into new markets without building its own regulated acquiring operation in each country.
