Origin emerges from stealth with $20 million in total backing
Accel and Zacua Ventures co-led financing for the construction robotics company behind OG-1.
Origin has emerged from stealth with $20 million in total funding. Accel and Zacua Ventures co-led the financing; the announcement did not separate the latest round’s size from that cumulative figure. Other named backers include Unilazer Ventures, Schema Ventures, Z21, ISAI and Imad Ventures.
The company has moved its OG-1 wall-finishing robot onto live construction sites, including deployments in New York. That setting tests whether autonomous equipment can operate amid changing layouts and other trades. Origin’s approach uses interchangeable tools so one platform can perform several kinds of interior work.
Use of funds
Deploy OG-1 and expand the robot fleet.
Support customer pilots in the US, Europe and Saudi Arabia.
Extend the modular platform to additional interior construction tasks.
