NOX Energy raises €3M to connect home heating with power markets
The Belgian startup reports more than 10,000 connected devices and sells through energy suppliers and equipment makers.
Flexibility inside the apps households already use
A heat pump can warm a home when electricity is plentiful, then ease off during a more expensive period. NOX coordinates that timing through existing device connections, within the resident’s temperature settings. Aggregated across households, these adjustments give suppliers a way to balance demand and participate in flexibility markets.
Distribution is central to the model: utilities and manufacturers can embed the service in their own applications, keeping their relationship with the household. Live integrations include Frank Energie’s heating and solar services and NIBE Group devices through myUplink. The software connects equipment to market signals without requiring homeowners to install a separate control box.
