NovaGo Therapeutics raises CHF24m Series B for spinal-cord-injury study
The Swiss biotech will advance a 120-patient proof-of-concept study of an antibody designed to block a protein that inhibits nerve regeneration.
Targeting a brake on nerve repair
NovaGo Therapeutics is developing antibodies against Nogo-A, a protein that inhibits nerve-fibre regeneration and neuroplasticity. Its lead programme is intended to help restore function after central nervous system injury by targeting that biological brake; the approach remains under clinical development.
The Series B will advance the lead programme toward a proof-of-concept study in 120 people with acute spinal-cord injury. NovaGo is also developing anti-Nogo-A programmes for stroke and secondary progressive multiple sclerosis, while this round’s stated clinical milestone centres on acute spinal-cord injury.
