Moonwalk Biosciences raises $70M Series B for adipose-targeted RNA medicines
Its lead candidate is designed to affect adipose tissue while limiting effects on lean muscle and other tissues.
RNA medicines designed to act in fat tissue
Moonwalk combines human genetics and multi-omics research with tissue-targeting chemistry to develop siRNA medicines for adipose tissue. The approach aims to modulate pathways involved in obesity and cardiometabolic disease while limiting effects on lean tissue, including muscle.
The lead candidate, MW101, is in IND-enabling development, with first-in-human studies planned for late 2027. Moonwalk’s broader pipeline includes additional obesity and lipid-lowering programs at earlier stages; all remain investigational.
