MMI raises €17m Series B to advance robotic microsurgery platform
The financing backs a commercial system that scales surgeons’ hand movements for delicate reconstructive procedures.
Precision at microsurgical scale
MMI’s Symani system is designed for open microsurgery, where surgeons operate on tiny vessels and soft tissue. Its wristed robotic instruments translate the surgeon’s movements at a smaller scale and reduce hand tremor, extending dexterity for procedures that demand precise manipulation of very small structures.
A system already in clinical use
Symani is a commercial platform with regulatory clearances and installations in Europe; MMI says U.S. clinical cases began in 2024. The Series B financing from Angelini Ventures and the European Investment Bank gives the company additional backing as surgical teams adopt robotic assistance for reconstructive operations.
