Medanit founder wins €25,000 Bayer Foundation award
The non-dilutive award pairs cash with six months of business support for the Ethiopian healthcare company.
Support for the operational side of care access
Founder Beamlak Alemayehu is one of 15 entrepreneurs selected for the 2026 programme. Alongside the cash prize, the award provides mentorship and an accelerator focused on investor readiness, connecting Medanit with the Bayer Foundation and Impact Hub networks.
For Medanit, growth depends on making medication delivery work reliably as well as connecting patients online. In a later interview with TechCabal, Alemayehu described financing the logistics and supply chain as a constraint. The award supports a business whose expansion requires both software and the capacity to fulfil requests for care.
