Me-Nasoma received a $5,000 equity-free award at the Meta AI Academy Kenya Pitchathon on 16 October. It was one of two winners and also gained advertising credits and an invitation to Meta’s Istanbul AI summit.
The Kenyan startup turns documents and web pages into speech, highlighting words as they are spoken. Its tools help learners follow written material through a web platform and Chrome extension.
The award supports the company without taking an ownership stake. The cash amount excludes the accompanying advertising credits.
